Laurie Radcliffe
Telecommunications - Trainer / Assessor
Laurie launched his first alarm installation business whilst still in year 9 of High School. This business venture was instrumental in establishing a lifelong passion for the security and communications industry.
In early 2006 Laurie designed, installed and project managed one of the first "All Optic" fibre to the home (FTTH) systems in Australia, a new technology at the time it has now been adopted as the preferred roll out method for the National Broadband Network (NBN). This was the launching pad for many high profile projects managed by Laurie, Those most worthy of mention include Quality Assurance manager for fibre optics within the coal seam gas (CSG) projects and lead project manager supplying FTTH to the entire Hope Island resort of QLD.
Since then a major focus for Laurie has been the teaching and mentoring of staff, contractors and customers in technology associated with the security and communications industries. Laurie further developed this passion some eight years ago and began his career in the training and assessing industry. When not training he devotes his spare time to the Australian Scout Association. Laurie has been a loyal and dedicated volunteer for many years. Laurie currently holds a Branch Commissioner appointment.
